Essential Health was created by Denise Joswiak as a result of her ongoing quest to promote and improve health.

Denise Joswiak BSN, RN, HNB-BC (certified holistic nurse), and Certified Clinical Aromatherapist created the Aromatherapy program for the Allina Health system. Currently Allina Health has provided over 55,000 therapeutic aromatherapy sessions; decreasing patient’s pain, nausea and anxiety!

Denise enjoys teaching patients, families and nurses, and has taught throughout her 36 years as a nurse. At Allina Health, she taught Transformative Nurse Training, Infant Massage, Stress Reduction, Aromatherapy and other classes involving self-care and integrative therapies. Denise is an author and international speaker.

Denise is excited to share her knowledge and empower people with holistic tools to maintain or improve their health and the health of those they love. Essential Health teaches people how to make the highest quality aromatherapy products, while maintaining a commitment to business practices that respect the earth and environment.

Essential Health’s 235-hour Aromatherapy Certification Program provides deeper levels of information about natural products and essential oils, detailed science, hours of blending in class, and the ability to easily create products and share information with others. Our curriculum is comprehensive and our instructors provide a relaxed, enjoyable environment. Our ACP is approved by NAHA for Levels 1 and 2. CEUs are provided for nurses and massage therapists.

Consulting services range from personal consultations to helping healthcare systems create evidence-based aromatherapy programs that promote best practice for their patients/clients.

I have a small business on 39 acres in the country offering tranquility to clients utilizing Aromatherapy and the "M" technique and specializing in pain management. I was lead in this direction after suffering 10 years with chronic pain and Fibromyalgia. Prior to becoming an Aromatherapist, I spent 20 years in the medical field as an Auditor and A&P Instructor. I've taken this knowledge into my Aromatherapy career and it's my passion to help others.

I am an Aromatherapy Practitioner with my CCA (Certification in Clinical Aromatherapy). I enjoy working with individuals and making recommendations as to which Essential Oils may be beneficial in a supportive capacity for them. I also create blends for a variety of issues such as Stress, Insomnia, Respiratory Issues, Emotional & Spiritual Balance as well as offering blends that can be supportive for patients dealing with disease and other illnesses.

I have used essential oils as Plant Medicine for over 20 years. I utilized the essential oils to mitigate the effect of radiation in my breast cancer treatment. In studying for my Diploma in Aromatherapy with Michael Scholes, I observed many of my classmates having similar success with their various maladies. Nat'l Reg. Aromatherapist 2000. Teacher training in aromatherapy 15 years ago. I have been utilizing the power of essential oils with all my clients and most passionate in teaching the depth and breath of this facinating plant world to professionals and laypeople alike. It is imperative that this knowledge be known in depth, and not taken lightly. I'm currently teaching with Atlantic Inst. of Aroma and in Clinical Practice.

Jamie performed her aromatherapy studies for the Masters of Aromatherapy and Instructors Training programs at Aroma Apothecary Healing Arts Academy and is a Clinical Member of the NAHA. She provides telephone, face-to-face online, and in person consults for aromatherapy & wellness education as well as public education & presentations.
