Roz Zollinger has an international reputation for her therapeutic work and instruction in Reflexology and Aromatherapy, and has 20 years’ experience in the practice and teaching of these modalities.

Roz qualified in Reflexology in 1983 through the South African Institute of Reflexology in Johannesburg, and in 1984 trained in Aromatherapy with the Institute of Clinical Aromatherapy in London. She subsequently pursued advanced Aromatherapy studies with the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy in California, and has taken the International Training Program in Essential Oils at Purdue University in Indiana, USA.

In 1992 Roz founded the Heal Center, Atlanta, which has since gained a national reputation for its therapeutic services and instruction. The center currently has nine practitioners and offers a full range of natural therapies.

Roz teaches various courses and workshops at the Heal Center and lectures at regional and national conferences. Kelly is the creator of a naturally sourced botanical product line for both people and pets and is approved by PETA as a Cruelty-free Vegan. 

Kelly is approved by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a Continuing Education Approved Provider. Susan is an E-RYT 200, YACEP, NAHA Level 2 Professional Aromatherapist, and HeartMath Certified Practitioner for Health Professionals. She is also a Matter of Balance Master Coach, facilitator for Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention, and instructor in additional evidence-based fall prevention and wellness exercise programs. Dr. Cavanaugh is the founder and Principal Investigator (PI) of Nutraceuticals Research Institute (NRI), an independent clinical research organization specializing in botanical and nutraceutical trials. She completed her doctorate by completing a dissertation based on a clinical trial for olfactory interventions for pre-procedural anxiety among children with an autism spectrum disorder, and her post-doctoral clinical trial methodology training comes from Harvard Medical School.

She has published over 30 peer-reviewed studies on essential oil safety, adaptogen efficacy, women's health, immune function, and pediatric aromatherapy. She is the PI on every single study NRI runs.

Dr. Cavanaugh just added The Botanical Lab at NRI. This is a merging of the research institute and the hands-on, applicable learning. Starting summer 2026, it all happens under one roof. Dr. Poli graduated with a Bachelors of Science in both Biology and Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh and then finished her PhD. from the University of Maryland in Plant Biology. During that time, her career focused on understanding the evolutionary development of axes in plants caused by plant hormones. Upon graduating with her PhD, Dr. Poli took a post-doctoral appointment where she explored the gene family CCC, a pollen development gene group. In 2006, she took a job at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia, where she has progressed through the ranks to become a full Professor of Biology, and most recently, a Professor of Cannabis Studies. She teaches a full range of courses in cell biology, plant physiology, evolution, plant diversity, and even writing. Currently she is developing the Cannabis Studies Program and working to bring in more direct plant medicine courses to the college.

In addition to her formal scientific career, Dr. Poli became a level 2 aromatherapist in 2020, studying from Aromahead Institute. As an active writer for the NAHA journal, Dr. Poli brings in botanical knowledge, cell biology and physiological evolution. She uses her aromatherapy knowledge directly in her Blue Bear Natural Skin Care business.

Dr Poli has been writing for the NAHA Aromatherapy Journal for several years and was a live presenter at the NAHA Aromatherapy Conference in Salt Lake City in 2023.

Dr. Dolan earned her doctorate in clinical nutrition through Maryland University of Integrative Health, through which she also earned a Post- Master's Certificate in Clinical Herbalism, and a Master's of Science in Therapeutic Herbalism. She is also certified in Holistic Aromatherapy through the West Coast Institute of Aromatherapy and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Virginia. Dr. Dolan is a NAHA certified clinical aromatherapist, board certified nutrition specialist, fellow of the American College of Nutrition, and author of several published peer-reviewed articles. My passion for herbal and essential oil remedies began over 10 years ago after being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and the later Severe Complex PTSD and Panic Disorder. As a former medical auditor/instructor, my knowledge of anatomy, physiology and the circulatory system gave me insight on how essential oils work. I’ve strived to learn everything I can about the link between essential oils and their effects on the body utilizing resources such as Robert Tisserand, Dr. Jean Valnet, Sylla Sheppard-Hanger, Gabriel Mojay, Jane Buckle and other resources including PubMed and PubChem.

I achieved my aromatherapy certification through Aromahead Institute along with additional courses. I've continued my education with chemistry courses by Dr. Joy Bowles and Dr. Timothy Miller and a great safety class by Robert Tisserand.  My passion for aromatherapy education and safe use of essential has inspired me to write numerous articles, those of which have been published through Nature Warehouse, "The Biblical Herbalist" a retired online magazine, as well as my blog and Facebook group: Aromatherapy by Soul Essentials Duo. Karen began using essential oils well over 10 years ago when she was introduced to them by a friend and massage therapist and has been fascinated by their therapeutic applications ever since.

She is a recent graduate of the American College of Healthcare Sciences, Diploma in Aromatherapy program and plans to continue her studies in the near future to obtain her CAM degree. Dr. Boukhalil earned her doctoral degree in Pharmacy from the St Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon. A registered pharmacist in the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy, she graduated with a diploma (DESIU) in Phytotherapy, Aromatherapy and Medicinal Plants from the Faculté de Pharmacie, Université de la Timone, Aix-Marseille, France. She then further specialized in Scientific and Medical aromatherapy in Paris, France. She also underwent postgraduate studies in aromatherapy, including advanced courses in clinical aromatherapy and aromatherapy for cancer care in London, UK. Dr. Nicole believes in continuous learning and for this has travelled many countries for congresses and seminars, meeting and forging strong links with the aromatherapy community worldwide.

Cláudia Vaz serves as NAHA International Director for Brazil and is a member of NAHA’s International Relations Committee (IRC). With 38 years of experience in health, well-being, and integrative practices, she has built a multifaceted career as an entrepreneur, educator, consultant, aromatherapy and Ayurvedic therapist, and advocate for innovative approaches to health and well-being. Her professional journey has been shaped by a commitment to education, lifelong learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the responsible integration of natural and integrative approaches into health and well-being.

Today, Cláudia’s work is strongly focused on education and raising awareness about the safe, responsible, and conscious use of essential oils and Brazilian native carrier oils. Cecile Ellert is a holistic aromatherapist, author and educator. A recognized authority on holistic aromatherapy in the French speaking blogosphere, Cecile is a popular author and speaker in Europe. She created her own on-line holistic aromatherapy school, AromaPro, (the only one in French). Ernalou Amechachura-Del Rosario or Balot, as she is more commonly known, is one of the pioneer aromatherapists in the Philippines and is currently the Aromatherapy Director of Medicale Yoga Institute and the founder of Lana Lane Aromatherapié. I am Tatiana Sabana, a certified podologist, clinical aromatherapist, educator, and founder of PODO EMPIRE, with more than 26 years of professional experience in podology and over 12 years in aromatherapy practice. In 2002, Henry Chang, RA, MNAHA, MIFPA founded AromaHarvest International College of Aromatherapy in Taiwan and started teaching Aromatherapy Level 1 and Level 2 courses. AromaHarvest International College of Aromatherapy is the oldest aromatherapy school and NAHA approved school in Taiwan. He is passionate about developing different teaching skills and designing different courses to lead his students to have a better and broader understanding in all aromatherapy related areas. Neža Rangus Ignjatović is a medically certified aromatherapist, cosmetic safety assessor, and CEO of Arxfarm d.o.o. (Slovenia) and Pharmanais d.o.o. Elizabeth Ashley, better known as The Secret Healer, is NAHA’s UK Director.   

When she first qualified as an aromatherapist in 1993, dinosaurs still roamed the Earth, but even that was a long way into her journey with essential oils, since her mother, Jill Bruce, had also trained with Patricia Davis when Liz was just eight years old. Jill ran a manufacturing company that travelled around the country, selling 140 different hand-made medicinal and beauty preparations that she’d designed. She established what was the largest aromatherapy school in the UK in the 90s and was a founder member of the IFA. 

Elizabeth Ashley is an essential oil researcher and has published 22 aromatherapy manuals. Her work takes the latest discoveries about essential oils from the laboratories, reuniting them with their most ancient knowledge and myths from antiquity. Cherisse has been interested in holistic energy healing modalities since she was very young with a great interest in astrology, aromatherapy, music, and Reiki. She received her initial nursing training as an RN in 1997. This earned her an Associate in Nursing from Passaic County Community College in Paterson NJ graduating with honors the spring of 1998 as well as an Associate in Psychology. During the course of her nursing education Cherisse became very interested in the use of herbs and essential oils used to reduce stress, focusing on her and fellow nursing classmates to help endure the late night clinical and studying. “Heal the Healer,” was her main concentration on various nursing assignments.  

While continuing her nursing career, attaining a BSN at Rutgers, The State University of NJ in 2000, she worked as a Pediatric Crisis Behavioral Health nurse at various hospitals incorporating Complementary Medicine and Progressive Relaxation in the milieu of her therapeutic groups. In February 2002, Cherisse completed Jane Buckle, RN PhD’s course for Certified Clinical Aromatherapist Practitioner for Health Care Professionals. Jane’s course introduced Cherisse to the existing but still much-needed evidence-based aromatherapy research needed, in order for aromatherapy to be a true health profession in United States.   

 

Upon completing Jane Buckle’s course in Harrisburg, PA, Cherisse was introduced to and joined NAHA. This provided an open door to the networking world full of passion for the integrity of true aromatherapy. Cherisse became a Registered Aromatherapist in November 2002 as well as the NAHA New Jersey (Northeast) Director. She hoped this position would serve to help the growth of the aromatic profession on the East Coast running NAHA meetings out of the hospital. She currently has finished Levels 1-3 in Debra Silverman’s Applied Astrology Program and is working on her astrology certification.  Cherisse has a great interest in Medical Astrology as well as Aromatherapy in Astrology. She hopes to be able to incorporate both of these Astrological modalities in Chart readings for clients. She is also in the process of writing a children’s fiction novel that promotes the use of astrology, aromatherapy, and integrative energy healing. Cherisse continues to consult and educate on aromatherapy and specializes in intuitive aromatherapy readings with personal blends.

Lesley A. Wooler B.Sc., RA, CYT, earned her degree in Horticulture from the University of RI.

She completed her first herbal apprenticeship and advanced herbal studies in the 1990’s and is the owner of The Herb Wyfe Holistic Health Center in Wickford, RI. She has served for eight years on the council for NEHA (North East Herbal Association); the past 4 years as its President.

Lesley is also a member of the following organizations: United Plant Savers, American Botanical Council, Herb Society of America, American Horticultural Society, Rhode Island Wild Plant Society and O-SHA (Ocean State Herbal Association) and NAHA (National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy). Lesley is also the NAHA Regional Director for Rhode Island.

She received over 230 hours of aromatherapy training at The Center for Holistic Botanical Studies where she was also on staff. She studied with Valerie Ann Worwood for over 4 years and is a Level IV Aroma Genera Practitioner. She has been teaching aromatherapy classes throughout the New England area for over 15 years.

Lesley is a Flower Essence Practitioner, having completed her training with David Dalton of Delta Gardens in 2000. She is also a professional member of FES (Flower Essence Society). She loves using her knowledge of herbs, essential oils and flower essences in combination to make healing remedies for her clients.

Lesley has maintained her own landscape/gardening business, “Gardening with Finesse,” for the past 12 years and is a RI/CH (Rhode Island Certified Horticulturist) through RINLA (Rhode Island Nursery and Landscape Association). Betty Torres is a certified aromatherapist, domestic violence advocate, and transformational coach and facilitator who combines traditional healing techniques to support survivors, healers, artists, and community providers with their self-care needs. Aside from creating custom blends and teaching aromatherapy workshops, she also creates safe spaces for change makers and leaders, as a way of prioritizing holistic self-care through aromatherapy and plant medicine in order to avoid burnout while being of service to others. She was previously Northern California's Regional Director for NAHA from 2018-2020 and is happy to rejoin the team again in 2025! Betty is a professional Level 2 NAHA member with over 20 years of aromatherapy experience and more than 250 hours of CE credits in essential oil education.

After years of suffering with an environmental illness, Amanda turned to holistic medicine. She began her aromatic education by obtaining her Advanced Aromatherapy and Internal Usage Certifications under the mentorship of Jade Shutes in 2015 with over 500 hours of training. She now serves the community as a NAHA Certified Clinical Aromatherapist®. In 2016, she launched Bee Rooted, a company dedicated to advocating for healthy environments and rescuing nuisance honeybees. Since then, she has also successfully completed a horticulture class and gained an Organic Lawn Care Accredited Professional Certification through the Organic Landscape Association and the Northeast Organic Farming Association. 

As an Environmental Illness survivor, she feels she has a special relationship with bees as they too are sensitive to miniscule environmental changes. She uses her experience to spread awareness for healthier environments, offering consultations and presentations around the country on holistic personal care, organic landscaping, and developing habitat for pollinators.

Angela Sidlo has been involved in healing arts for nearly 20 years. She is an educator, international speaker and best selling author of “Aromatherapy for Menopause Success”. Her passion lies in helping women navigate their menopausal journey with vitality, ease and grace. She holds certifications as a Holistic Aromatherapist, Aroma Point Therapist, Reflexologist, Reiki Master and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. KG Stiles, BA, CBT, CBP, LMT, NACEP is a Holistic Wellness Practitioner, Intuitive Astrologer, Energy Healer, and Certified Clinical Aromatherapist with over 40 years of professional experience. Her extensive training includes many modalities of healing, including massage therapy (including Deep Tissue) as well as Certified Clinical Aromatherapy, Chi Nei Tsang: Visceral Rejuvenation, Bodymind Clearing, Lymphatic Drainage, Acupressure, Craniosacral Therapy, Applied Kinesiology, Polarity, Medical Qi Gong, Nutrition, Reflexology, Energy Medicine, Stress Management, and Meditation. Shanti has worked and studied in a variety of healing modalities in the US, Canada, Germany, Thailand, and the Caribbean. This lifelong study of healing has led her to establish and direct Aroma Apothecary Healing Arts Academy since 2002. Annette is a Certified Clinical Nutritionist & Aromatherapist with 30 years of Aromatherapy experience. She began her Aromatherapy career as the Secretary of the first American Aromatherapy Association (AATA) founded in 1987.

Annette has studied under Dr. Jean Claude Lapraz since 1989. Dr. Lapraz is a practicing French Medical Doctor, world-renowned pioneer in the field of clinical phyto-aromatherapy, and the co-innovator of Endobiogeny. Annette teaches and practices phyto-aromatherapy and Endobiogeny at the Endobiogenic Integrative Medical Center (EIMC) located in Pocatello, ID. This innovative medical concept, based on a refined view of the neuro-endocrine system, integrates classical medicine with herbs and supplements, essential oils, dietary and lifestyle modifications to create a truly holistic treatment approach to illnesses of the body and mind.

Annette is also a formulator and customer relations manager for Time Laboratories, a longtime, well-respected natural products manufacturer founded by her Grandmother, Annemarie Buhler in 1973.

She has supported and served NAHA for many years as Regional Director for Idaho, Director Coordinator, Board Member, and currently as NAHA's President.

As a native of Reno Nevada, Anna Pageau has always immersed herself in the Sierra Nevada outdoors. She loves the breathtaking scenery and captures its beauty through photography. She enjoys exploring native plants while hiking and traveling.  

In the mid 1990's, her young son developed allergies to several antibiotics and was diagnosed with ADHD. This led Anna to explore how plants could support her family’s health. Using plants and essential oils, she was able to keep her family healthy and support her son's immune system through these challenging issues. 

While living in Jacksonville, Florida, she decided to pursue a formal education in aromatherapy and achieved her human aromatherapy certification in 2015. Upon completion she began teaching workshops in the community at a local rescue farm focused on how to safely use essential oils. Her compassion for the often neglected and abused animals resulted in her obtaining her certification in animal aromatherapy in 2017. She used this new knowledge to help the animals overcome their physical and emotional abuse as well as their everyday ailments. 

In 2019, her family decided to relocate "Home" to Reno, Nevada to be closer to family and follow her dreams of owning a small farm. Now living on 10 acres, she continues to use her aromatic knowledge to support her livestock and pets. Living in one of the harshest growing environments in the United States, she has dedicated her time to showing people it isn't impossible to have a garden. She works in the community and with youth organizations to help foster a passion for aromatic plants. 

In her spare time, she volunteers working with youth organizations to pass on her gardening techniques. She has received numerous accolades from the organizations. She also supports her local community by volunteering with the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the Northern Nevada Food Council (NNFC). In addition, she is an Auxiliary member with the American Legion, supporting veterans and their families.  

Anna has also been spending time writing about aromatherapy, gardening and herbalism on her website and is in the process of developing online classes. Her goal is to have every person growing at least one aromatic plant in their space. She believes working with a plant can give everyone a sense of calm and patience. Plants are our ultimate educators showing us the benefits of collaboration and patience to grow. 

While developing the farm business, Silver Anchor Farm, Anna learned a lot about the various regulatory challenges when you have an agricultural (aromatic plants) business in a drought prone environment. In Nevada, any business with an agriculture focus must have water rights. This led to a lot of learning about soil health and the soil’s ability to hold water. These lessons helped Anna develop many techniques from intercropping various plants to using cover crops and vermicompost to help improve the soil. The farm’s focus is on many aromatic and herbal plants including sunflowers, yarrow and mullein that are native to the area. We are also planting several varieties of mint, lemon balm, chamomile, clary sage and motherwort just to name a few. We have been making teas, herb blends and salves. In the future, we would like to expand production and start distilling the plants for at least hydrosols or more.  

Improving the organic matter in soil helps to increase the water holding capacity. Since much of Nevada’s land is dirt, creating organic matter is a key component to creating soil. As the world continues to face climate shifts, it will be important to focus on soil health to continue growing the plants we love.

Sharon Louise Chapman, BA (Hons), is a 20-year vintage aromatherapist (training at the Penny Price Aromatherapy Academy in the UK), a botanical perfumer (studying under award-winning perfumer Charna Ethier), published author and writer, and professional editor. She has worked within the healthcare industry since the 1990’s. Sharon founded her business Sedona Aromatics in 2007, when she moved from the UK to the United States. She exclusively wrote the education programs for her aromatherapy school. Sharon has consulted with some of the major brands in the aromatherapy industry, lectured at conferences live and online, and been invited as a guest panelist on webinars.
