Basics of Pharmacology for Aromatherapists
This webinar is for Aromatherapists who do not have a medical background and who would like to understand more about how an essential oil exerts effects on the body when it is absorbed into the blood. In this discussion, we will be looking at two aspects of pharmacology: pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.
Pharmacokinetics is the study of what the body does to a drug or essential oil, including how such substances are absorbed, distributed, metabolized and excreted. Pharmacodynamics deals with what drugs do to the body. While there is some overlap between these two areas, each is a distinct division of pharmacology and together they will help you understand how essential oils work.
