Our Purpose

Airmid Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization dedicated to the global education, research, and sustainable management of medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs). We aim to develop, implement, and support projects and education for all ages focused on traditional ecological knowledge of aromatic plant medicine among healers worldwide, impacts of climate change, ethical sourcing, and forest regeneration. We also help to protect and promote uses of traditional medicine in Indigenous communities.

History & Affiliation

The International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA) was formed in 2002, an amalgamation of the Register of Qualified Aromatherapists and the International Society of Professional Aromatherapists. The chief purpose of the IFPA is to support aromatherapists and improve standards of aromatherapy education and practice.

IFPA is now the largest, aromatherapy specific, professional practitioner organisation in the UK and is currently active in 52 countries. We are based in Hinckley, Leicestershire in the United Kingdom.
