Hospital work is not required, but may be counted toward clinical experience if aromatherapy is used as a healing modality.
Proof of clinical experience documentation may be in the form of typed list of clinical aromatherapy hours on professional letterhead and signed by clinic/center coordinator, and or the same list from your private consulting business.
Graduates must submit proof of completion of 15 NAHA approved continuing education hours (CEs) per year or 30 CEs every 2 years in order to remain a Level 3 member in good standing.
Professional Business policy, website, social media, and written materials must not contain: promotion of unsafe and/or contraindicated use of essential oils and aromatherapy techniques.
***100 hours in addition to the required Level 1 & Level 2 hours, for a total minimum of 300. Students who are not existing clinicians have an additional requirement to provide proof of completion of Advanced Pathophysiology from an accredited institution, or the equivalent class taken from a NAHA approved school. Advanced Pathophysiology is a 4 credit graduate level class which typically advances knowledge of anatomy and physiology while expaining the mechanisms of diseases and pathophysiological conditions affecting the the integumentary system, the circulatory system, the reproductive system, the musculoskeletal system, the lymphatic/immune system, the endocrine system, the nervous system, the urinary system, and the digestive system. Many universities and colleges offer this course in classroom and on line.
1 college credit = 15-16 classroom hours, or self-paced online which can often be completed more quickly.
Proof of the requirements listed above must be included with your application at the time of submission in order to be approved as a Level 3 (Clinical) member. You can upload, email or mail your documents to the NAHA office with proof of your aromatherapy training. Memberships are charged when you apply.
